About Community School Boards of Oregon (CSBO)

CSBO Mission Statement

To equip and promote local school boards and parents/legal guardians in providing all students access to an excellent education founded in community support, local decisions, and parental rights.

CSBO Values

Community Support:

Board members are elected to represent the values of their constituents. For the betterment of all students, school boards and parents need to partner and unite with administrators, teachers, coaches, faith-based organizations, business professional groups, trade groups, and businesses.

Local Decisions:

Local school boards know their community and students better than state or federal government officials. School boards are tasked to ensure all students have the highest educational opportunities. School boards seek to provide a safe and healthy environment for students.

Parental Rights:

Parents oversee the upbringing of their children. Parents must be informed of and involved in all decisions relating to their child’s educational journey.
