We do not have to tell educators and school board members that our children are our future. We know their lives will define our society. Yet our legislators consistently push for political agendas in education that benefit themselves in the moment but do not reflect evidence-based best practices for childhood development.
CSBO will not trade our children’s development for political gain. We exist to give a voice to like-minded educational leaders to preserve and promote quality education. For example, when the Oregon Department of Education proposed new standards that would expose children to sexuality at a developmentally inappropriate age, CSBO pushed back.
With our help, Oregon parents and educators had their voices heard in Salem. We worked together to ensure the protection of the classroom and age-appropriate education. Thanks to our efforts, ODE did change their standards.
